Paris closed the spring/summer 2027 season on 6 October, and the ideas of the collections are now clear enough to act on. Harper’s Bazaar Arabia has already sorted the Paris looks into five edits for Middle Eastern readers: 9 to 5, Off-Duty, After Hours, The Festive Edit and The RSVP Edit. This guide follows the same logic and adds a practical layer: which ideas suit the Gulf calendar, which fabrics suit the climate, and when the clothes actually arrive.
For the working day
The strongest idea for the office is tailoring. For a morning at DIFC, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia chose Chanel’s navy tweed tailoring. It also picked a grounded chocolate-brown look from Hermès and a precise coat dress from Dior. The same thread appears elsewhere. Giorgio Armani blended day and evening wear, and Saint Laurent paired its gold with sahariennes, trenches and short, precise suits.
The skirt is the other workday idea. Prada sent out 63 looks, each built around a skirt, and Miuccia Prada said the skirt served as a framework. For a wardrobe that already runs on trousers and long dresses, a well-cut skirt in a structured fabric is the simplest way to follow it.
Lightness for the heat
The season is helpfully practical about temperature. Dior’s show notes described a collection that anticipates a warm breeze, with movement arriving alongside lightness, and the house made pinstripe, tartan and Prince of Wales checks as light as air. Sportmax built what it called heat-responsive dressing in organza and nappa leather. Max Mara showed an organza trench and a belted safari jacket, which Wallpaper called chic utilitarianism. Giorgio Armani introduced cotton into its reflective fabrics.
The lesson for a Gulf closet is that lighter does not mean less formal. A trench in organza or a check in a fine, airy weave can carry a meeting and survive a walk from the car park.

Colour and gold
Neutrals shifted this season. Rick Owens moved from black to stone, and Lacoste built a collection called Dress Code: No White Required around clay tones. These soft shades sit well with the landscape and with linen.
Gold was the season’s loudest note. Saint Laurent worked entirely in gold, in liquid lamé, burnished satin, metallic leather, brocade and gold jacquard. For festive dressing, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia picked Saint Laurent’s gold lace for an Eid dinner, Balenciaga’s saturated orange for an intimate iftar and a black Chloé eyelet dress for a late suhoor.
Wedding season
For weddings, the magazine chose three looks from Elie Saab’s SS27 collection in Paris: a blush corseted gown for a ballroom wedding, ivory satin for black tie and blue chiffon for a destination wedding. Saab remains the natural reference for evening wear in the region, and his collection for H&M, which goes online in the UAE, Kuwait and Riyadh on 22 October, offers a more accessible route to the same codes.

The finishing touches
Accessories are where a season can be followed at lower cost. Chanel showed two-tone pumps with a cream toe and quilted bags in black, burgundy and white. At Gucci, the Horsebit was the motif of the season, according to Wallpaper.
Craft was visible too. Tod’s artisans built T Signature bags and Gommino loafers on site during the show, and Gabriela Hearst drew on Afghan women’s craft with traditional prints and small mirrors. Pieces that show their making tend to age well, which is a good guide when choosing what to keep.
When SS27 reaches the shops
Spring and summer collections shown in September usually reach boutiques from about January to February. Mulberry has confirmed that its SS27 collection arrives in stores and online in January 2027. That timing matters in the Gulf. Deliveries will land in the cooler months, so lightweight fabrics fill the gap between winter and the long summer. Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in 2027 are due to fall in about February and March, inside the same delivery window, which makes the festive edits timely rather than distant.
A short plan
- Now: decide on one tailored piece for the working week and one evening piece for the festive season.
- November to December: ask your boutique when the pieces you want are due, since arrival dates vary by house and by store.
- January to March: buy lightweight pieces first, then add gold or colour for Eid.
- Throughout: favour fabrics that suit the heat, such as organza, fine cotton and light checks.
None of this requires following the runway to the letter. The season offers a few clear ideas, and the most useful ones for the region are the simplest: well-cut tailoring, air in the fabric, and one piece in gold.
