Riyadh Season will return for its seventh edition on Wednesday 21 October 2026, with a ten-week run under the slogan "Big Time". Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, announced the dates on Saturday 26 September in a promotional video that previewed the programme.
The season brings together themed entertainment zones, a sporting calendar, concerts, theatre and family events across the Saudi capital. First held in 2019, it has grown into one of the largest winter entertainment seasons in the Gulf, and Gulf News places it within the kingdom's wider push to grow tourism, leisure and culture as part of its economic diversification. According to Arab News, the announcement presented the new edition as strengthening Riyadh's position as "a global destination for key events and international audiences".
Much of the detail is still to come. The announcement named the returning zones and the headline sport, but neither Gulf News nor Arab News reported a closing date or dates for individual events. This guide sets out what has been confirmed so far, and what to watch for before you book.
The dates so far
- Opening: Wednesday 21 October 2026
- Length: ten weeks
- Edition: the seventh, after the first season in 2019
- Slogan: "Big Time"
- Closing date: not yet confirmed
- Dates of individual events: not yet confirmed
Counted from opening day, ten weeks would carry the season close to the end of the year. Until the organisers publish a closing date, treat that as an estimate rather than a fixed point in your diary.
The zones
Riyadh Season is organised around themed zones, each a separate site with its own programme. These are the ones named in the announcement:
- Boulevard World, returning with three new country pavilions, for the Netherlands, Portugal and Yemen
- Boulevard City, reopening with new content
- Wonder Garden, returning with rides and activities
- The Groves
- The Farmers' Market
- VIA Riyadh, home this season to the Ana Arabia exhibition
Boulevard World is the zone built around pavilions that each represent a country, and this year's additions widen its map in two directions: towards Europe with the Netherlands and Portugal, and closer to home with Yemen, which brings a neighbouring Arab country into the line-up.
Boulevard City reopens with new content, though the reports did not say what has changed. Wonder Garden, with its rides and activities, is the zone most clearly aimed at families with children. The Groves and the Farmers' Market complete the list of zones named so far.
The Ana Arabia exhibition is set at VIA Riyadh. The reports gave no further detail of what it will show, so it is one to watch as the programme fills in.

Headline sport
Sport remains central to the season. The programme includes the Six Kings Slam tennis tournament, boxing and wrestling events, and UFC bouts.
The Six Kings Slam is an invitational men's tennis exhibition, first staged in Riyadh in October 2024. No date has yet been reported for this year's edition, so tennis followers should wait for the announcement before planning a trip around it.
The same applies to the fight nights. Boxing, wrestling and UFC are all on the programme, but the cards, venues and dates have not been published. If one bout is the reason for your journey, wait until it is confirmed.
Music, stage and family
Beyond the zones and the arenas, the programme lists concerts by Saudi, Arab and international artists, theatre, stand-up comedy, and entertainment for children and families. No performers were named in the reports, so the shape of the music calendar will become clear only as individual events are announced.
For families, Wonder Garden's rides and the programme of children's entertainment give plenty to plan around, and the ten-week run leaves room to choose a weekend that suits the school calendar.
Planning a visit
Riyadh is a short flight from every Gulf capital, which makes the season a weekend option for visitors from across the region as well as a winter of evenings out for residents. A few points to keep in mind:
- The season opens on a Wednesday, so its first full weekend falls on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October.
- Check dates, venues and tickets on the official Riyadh Season channels, as event dates have not yet been confirmed.
- If a single fixture is the reason for your trip, such as the Six Kings Slam or a particular concert, book flights and hotels only once its date is set.
- The zones are separate sites, so plan each evening around one or two of them rather than trying to see everything in one visit.
- With ten weeks to choose from, there is no need to crowd everything into the opening fortnight.
What comes next
The next step is the detailed calendar: dates for the concerts, the fight nights and the tennis, and a confirmed closing date. For now, the outline is clear. A seventh season opens on 21 October for ten weeks, with new pavilions at Boulevard World and a sporting line-up led by the Six Kings Slam.
A ten-week season rewards patience: decide what matters most to you, then wait for its date.
