Zodiàr, the Dubai-born niche perfume house built on four elements

A Dubai-based legal director in media runs the young fragrance label outside office hours, with French ingredients, small batches made in Singapore and a range organised by earth, fire, water and air.

Zodiàr, a young niche perfume house born in the UAE, is built on a simple idea: four elements, earth, fire, water and air, each with its own scent. Harper's Bazaar Arabia profiled the label in its September 2026 issue, with the story going online on 24 September. It is a small brand with a clear point of view, and a useful example of how independent founders in the region are entering a market long shaped by established houses.

The founder is Rebecca Gerges, who was born in Lebanon and is based in Dubai. According to Harper's Bazaar Arabia, she is a Legal Director in media and communications and runs the perfume house outside office hours. She designed the logo, directed the design of the bottle and chose the packaging herself, a level of involvement that is typical of founder-led labels.

Four elements, three scents so far

The range is inspired by the four elements, and the scents are unisex. Harper's Bazaar Arabia reports that collections for earth, fire and water exist so far, with an air scent described as coming soon. A full discovery kit is also said to be launching soon.

The brand's own website lists three fragrances:

  • Solar Temptation (fire): golden amber and tuberose.
  • Aqua Bloom (water): crisp pear, orange blossom and a floral marine accord.
  • Deep Root (earth): Cambodian oud, French oak, dark cacao and patchouli.

An accord is a blend of notes that reads as a single impression, so a floral marine accord suggests flowers with the cool character of sea air. The line-up covers a wide range: a warm, resinous amber, a fresh floral, and a dark, woody scent in which oud meets cacao.

The elemental framing is the brand's marketing language, and the house describes itself as inspired by the elements. It gives a young label a clear way to organise its scents, and it makes the range easy to explain to someone who has not yet smelled it.

French ingredients, small batches

The supply chain is international. According to Harper's Bazaar Arabia, ingredients are sourced from France, then blended and produced in small batches in Singapore before reaching Dubai. The brand's site describes Zodiàr as a luxury niche perfume house in Dubai that blends French craftsmanship with Dubai's bold spirit.

Small batches matter in niche perfumery because they let a young label control quality and stock without a large production run. The brand's Founder's Batch debuted in 2025.

Prices and where to buy

Prices come from the brand's website, since Harper's Bazaar Arabia does not give any. Each 100 ml bottle is priced at Dhs550. The Zodiàr Discovery Experience, which contains three 2 ml samples in an embossed gold case, is priced at Dhs90, a low-risk way to try a house whose scents cannot be judged from a description alone.

Harper's Bazaar Arabia reports that Zodiàr ships across the GCC, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, and holds curated pop-up events across Dubai. The website offers free shipping within the UAE and delivery to the wider GCC and to Lebanon, though it does not list delivery costs or times.

Deep Root is the one that will speak most directly to readers in the region. Oud is long familiar to Gulf perfume lovers, and here it is set beside French oak and dark cacao, which gives the note a different setting.

An independent in a growing field

The Gulf's fragrance trade is large and getting larger. Khaleej Times reports that the fragrance section of Beautyworld Dubai, which is due to open its 30th edition on 6 October, covers more than 19,000 sqm with more than 220 exhibitors, in a hall dedicated entirely to fragrance. That is the scale of the market that Zodiàr is entering.

It is not alone among new independent names. Grazia Middle East has also featured Arcadia, a fragrance and candle label founded by the Emirati entrepreneur Amna Al Habtoor, in the same wave of regional brands.

A note on sourcing

Independent coverage of Zodiàr so far comes from Harper's Bazaar Arabia, and the prices come from the brand's own site, which does not name the founder. The site's labelling of concentration is also inconsistent between pages, so this report leaves it out. Readers who are considering a purchase should check the current listing.

What comes next

The air scent and the full discovery kit are the next milestones the brand has pointed to, and between them they would complete the set of four. Until then, Zodiàr is a young house with three fragrances to judge, a founder who built it around a full-time job, and shipping that already reaches across the GCC.
